We are pleased
to announce that Amines & Plasticizers Limited (APL) has obtained
the right from the DOW Chemical Company (Dow) use of the Methyl Diethanolamine
(MDEA) based Specialty Amine products supplied in India.
APL will now be able to supply the Specialty MDEA based gas treating
products and services to meet local needs.
APL is the pioneer and largest manufacturer of Ethanolamines, MDEA
and other Alkyl Alkanolamines in India for the past 25 years and will
provide Specialty MDEA based technology, products and technical services
and support to customers in India.

APL's customers in India will now benefit from faster and more efficient
supply of these services. APL has local supply of the products and
provides the services. APL has its headquarters in Mumbai.
DOW's Specialty Amine products are MDEA based formulations which are
supplied with a broad range of services. These services include computer
simulations, amine process training and startup support, a full range
of products, and ongoing analytical support. Process training and
on-site startup support allows customers to quickly experience the
full benefits of using the Specialty Amine products.
Ongoing support is a key to assisting customers in spotting changing
needs in their amine solution before any problems arise.
Since gas treating needs can vary greatly there are also Specialty
Amine products which perform across a broad spectrum. In applications
requiring selective removal of H2S, DOW's MDEA based Specialty Amine
Solvent is the product of choice. Allowing less pickup of CO2, lower
energy requirements, and higher allowable operating concentrations
than other amines in typical refinery and natural gas treating applications.
For systems needing deep removal of CO2, another of DOW's Specialty
Amine Solvent is used. This product can give greater capacity to amine
units which are usually pushed to the limit such as in ammonia or
hydrogen plants.
DOW formed the Specialty Amines Technology Group in 1982 to provide
products, technology and services to the gas treating industry. The
MDEA based products have been used in a wide variety of industries
and in all regions of the globe since that time. Dow is the world's
fifth largest chemical manufacturer with sales of $20 billion a year.
